Panel Discussion selfie!
Only 40% of workers in the healthcare industry are people of color , of this percentage 16% are African American.
The mission of our club is to address the underrepresentation of Black professionals in healthcare by providing high school students with the knowledge, exposure, and mentorship necessary to pursue careers in the health sciences. Through hands-on activities such as dissections, interactive discussions with successful healthcare professionals, and annual panel events, we aim to empower MECPS students to make informed decisions about their future careers in medicine. By increasing the number of Black healthcare workers and fostering cultural competency in the field, our club seeks to strengthen the doctor-patient relationship within minority communities and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive healthcare system
